Mesh2DXF — flat feature tracer

Click any triangle in the 3D view. The selection spreads outward across neighbouring triangles for as long as they stay flat.

Re-fits the plane to what it found, then grows again.

Segments the whole mesh into flat patches, largest first. On a big scan this takes a few seconds.

Cuts the mesh with a plane and traces the cross-section. Use this for profiles and bores that aren't a flat face.

Reference frame Model axes A scan sits at whatever angle it was measured at, so its own axes cut across the part. Select a flat face first, then align: its normal becomes X, so X cuts parallel to the face and Y and Z cut sections through it.
